Silver Antique Open Face Pocket Watch
London 1892
A silver open-face pocket watch made in London, England in 1892. This watch is engraved three times with the same number (17860) and comes complete with a silver chain and key.
DIAL: The white enamel dial has black Roman numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has golden hands and a subsidiary second’s dial at the six. The dial is signed: “A1 - 17860”.
MOVEMENT: The high-grade fusee lever movement has blued screws and is in great working condition. However, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy for an antique pocket watch. The movement is signed “Barnsley, Benjamin Gaunt & Sons” and numbered 17860. The movement is protected by a dust cover.
CASE: The watch lies in a silver open-face coin edge case with an engine-turned finish and monogram. The inner side of the case is hallmarked silver, London - 1892 and numbered 17860.
See book: Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World by Brian Loomes, page 294: Benjamin Gaunt, Barnsley.
Diameter: 55 mm - Weight: 160g
